I selected my track bike for a couple of reasons: I wanted something that fit my riding goals and would be a solid platform; secondly, I wanted a bike that had a respectable amount of data gathering capabilities.
I saw your blogpost of 2023-06-17 with the expanded solo 2 DL setup and I was wondering if adding the i2M TPMS-CAN system to it would be possible instead of the camera setup you included? Or perhaps even ontop of the camera slot if the 4 way data hub from aim gets used?
I have been doing some research on how to expand upon my solo 2 DL setup and your setup in that blogpost is a very good example of what I would like accomplish with ideally ontop of it also the TPMS.
I'm not an AiM expert but it *might* be possible to do it on the EXP port (and a data hub so you have enough EXP ports) but I've never looked into it. AiM does manufacture a temperature sensor expansionI and the ACC units so the S2DL does have bidirectional communication on that port. I have a custom ECU profile for my Triumph and because of that I was able to add additional channels to the ECU profile for the TPMS and an IMU. I'd be interested to hear if you are able to add it to the AiM EXP. FWIW, at least when I got my i2M TPMS receiver, it was pre-configured for 1 Mbit communication. I had to re-code it for 500 k to talk the same language as my bike. I'm not sure what frequency the AiM CAN EXP network uses.
Thanks for the reply any extra info on this is always super welcome. Your setup with the solo 2 dl has given me alot of inspiration and ideas to test :D. The i2M TPMS reciever dus come with a plug that isnt accepted by the AIM devices. Did you simply rewire this to a fitting plug or did you splice it into another incoming data cable?
In most of my installs, I use the AiM ECU harness with flying leads to connect to the bike’s CAN bus. In this instance I added the CAN leads from the i2M receiver in parallel to the CAN connections.

Hi Ezio,

Please do let me know how it works out!
